South of Polaris are an alt-folk duo based in the UK, noted for blending traditional folk storytelling with influences from southern Spanish flamenco and touches of theatrical flair.

 

Danii Reales (vocals, violin) and Saúl Díaz (electro-classical guitar), offer an intoxicating blend of heartfelt, relatable lyrics, laced with brilliantly evocative violin, and Spanish inspired classical guitar.

Their performance at the Baldock Arts and Heritage Centre will be a unique one-off show, including special guests that they've met on their musical journey so far.

Pottery Workshop

A 2hr hand building pottery workshop using the Nerikomi pottery technique. This involves using different coloured clays to create abstract patterns, which are then rolled out to make smooth plates or small mugs.  All materials including firing are included.

Please note that items will take up to 3 weeks post workshop to be fired and returned to the centre for collection.
They will be held in the Gallery ​which is open every ​Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 11am - 3pm

For ages 16yrs+

Ali Williams is an actor and storyteller of many years experience.  She was Patricia in A Suitable Boy for BBC TV.

Join us for an unforgettable Friday night of hard-hitting tunes and soulful ballads; an evening of the best in jazz, swing, blues, funk and Latin.

 

Award-winning, and appearing regularly across the South East as well as in European tours. The band has won gold and platinum awards at the National Concert Band Festival.

 

The band is led by trumpeter, Matt Ward, and joined by professional Canadian jazz vocalist sensation, Lauren Bush.

An illustrated talk by Paul Herring

This is the concluding talk on Handel in London. It covers the Georgian period from around 1720 to 1750 when Handel moved from opera to oratorio. There will be some wonderful video clips of his music, no small amount of scandal and a rousing conclusion with his Hallelujah chorus!
